Welcome to View Oman. These terms govern your use of our website, our mobile app and everything we offer through them (the "platform"). The platform is a directory of places, services and experiences in the Sultanate of Oman: it lets you discover, save and review them, and lets place owners list what they offer and receive enquiries.
By using the platform or creating an account you agree to these terms and to the Privacy Policy that accompanies them. If you do not agree with any part of them, please stop using the platform.
1. Eligibility
You must be at least sixteen years old to create an account. If you use the platform on behalf of a business, you confirm that you are authorised to bind that business to these terms.
2. Your account
- You agree to provide accurate, complete details when registering, and to keep them up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything that happens through your account. Tell us immediately if you suspect unauthorised use.
- Multiple accounts must not be used to manipulate ratings or to get around an earlier suspension.
- You can delete your account at any time from your account settings in the app or on the website.
3. The service is free, and carries no payments
Using the platform is free, and no payment, instalment or paid booking is processed through it. Any financial arrangement for a service or a booking is made directly between you and the place owner, outside the platform, and we are not a party to it.
4. Content you publish
Your contributions include the places, experiences, stories, reviews, comments and photos you add. You keep ownership of your content; by publishing it you grant us a non-exclusive, non-transferable, royalty-free licence to display, store, format, translate and promote it within the platform and in our own channels, for as long as the content remains published.
You confirm that you hold the rights needed for what you publish — photographs in particular — and that it infringes nobody else's rights.
5. Prohibited content
- Anything that breaks the laws of the Sultanate of Oman or encourages breaking them.
- Abusive, discriminatory, threatening, harassing or defamatory content.
- Misleading or false information about a place or service, and impersonating a person or organisation.
- Other people's personal data, published without their permission.
- Unsolicited advertising, repeated messages and harmful links.
- Any attempt to breach or disrupt the platform, or to scrape its data without our written permission.
6. Reviews and experiences
A review must reflect a genuine, first-hand experience. Reviews written in exchange for a benefit, reviews of a place you own or compete with, and the use of multiple accounts to move an average rating are all prohibited. We may remove any review that breaks this rule without prior notice.
7. Place owners and listings
- The owner is responsible for the accuracy of what they publish: address, opening hours, contact details and description of the service.
- New listings and edits are reviewed before publication, and we may refuse, amend or remove any listing that fails our quality standards or breaches these terms.
- Publishing a listing is not an endorsement of it, nor a guarantee of the quality of its service.
- Enquiries and booking requests sent by users are passed to the place owner, who answers them directly and is bound by them.
8. Accuracy of information
We make reasonable efforts to keep content current, but details such as prices, opening hours and availability can change without our knowledge. Please confirm them with the place directly before relying on them for a visit or a decision.
9. Intellectual property
The View Oman name, logo, interface design, texts and databases are owned by or licensed to us. They may not be copied, republished or used to create derivative works without our prior written permission, and using the platform grants you no rights in these marks.
10. Third-party links and services
The platform may link to third-party sites and services (place owners' websites, maps, social networks). They are independent of us, governed by their own terms, and we are not responsible for their content or practices.
11. Availability
We aim to keep the platform available at all times, without guaranteeing that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. We may change, suspend or discontinue any part of it, notifying you of material changes through the platform or by email where we can.
12. Limitation of liability
The platform is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damage, for losses arising from your reliance on content published by another user, or for any dealing between you and a place owner. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
13. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or close your account, or remove your content, if these terms are breached or if we suspect fraudulent or harmful activity. We will tell you and explain why, unless a legal obligation prevents us. You may stop using the platform at any time by deleting your account.
14. Privacy
Your personal data is handled under the Privacy Policy published on the platform, which forms part of these terms.
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms to reflect changes in our services or in legal requirements. Any update is published on this page and the "last updated" date shown above it is revised. Continuing to use the platform after an update takes effect means you accept it.
16. Governing law
These terms are governed by and construed under the laws of the Sultanate of Oman, and the Omani courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them. If any clause is found invalid, the remaining clauses stay in force.
